Rives 1880 Spanish Gin

Rives 1880 Spanish Gin comes from Rives Pitman, the family distillery founded in 1880 in El Puerto de Santa María on the Bay of Cádiz, the sherry-country town that has been a gin capital of Spain for well over a century. Rives 1880 is the house's premium, slow-distilled dry gin made by the original method, and it is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a distinctive blue bottle.

It is a classic Mediterranean-leaning dry gin: crisp juniper with citrus and a soft herbal warmth, smooth and clean enough for the Spanish gin-tonic tradition where it is served in a big balloon glass with plenty of ice, a quality tonic and a twist of citrus. It also makes an honest Martini and a fine base for a Spanish-style spritz. At this price it is an easy way to bring a piece of Andalusian drinking culture home.
